About The Anne Levine Show Anne’s first foray into broadcasting took place on the internet in 1999 when she did an online show called “What’s Your Diagnosis?” Anne cultivated a following very quickly and put it in the back of her mind to one day do a comedy show on an actual radio station. After a decade dabbling in many enterprises, some of which are listed below, Anne joined the crew at WOMR in Provincetown MA. The Anne Levine Show in which she explores politics, pop-culture, music, and other topics while fielding live phone calls and emails; has been running for over two years. Her edgy Monday night shows are funny, smart and dark. Anne was joined in mid 2009 by her long time friend, Michael Hill who co-hosts the show with her and occasionally takes over the whole enchilada when Anne is traveling off to exciting, mysterious places. Anne Levine on Radio “I love radio and believe it is a primary source of common generational languages. These languages, along with radio, are dying out because we now digitally produce our own content and venues. We should work to maintain our links to the past while we speed forward. There is magic in that balance. Keep listening. I’ll keep talking.” Anne Levine About Anne Levine Anne Levine was born in New York City and was raised in New York, Cape Cod, and Connecticut. She is the daughter of the late clothing designer Larry Levine and his wife Emily. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College where she studied Performing Arts, Anne enjoyed a colorful and checkered collage of careers. Her jobs included cabaret singer, clothing designer, travel agent, housekeeper, secretary, sales clerk, jewelry dealer, ghost writer and rock band manager. With the exception of three years in Israel, Anne lived most of her adult life in New York City and Cape Cod, MA. Michael Hill on Radio “I have always loved radio. I am a long time collector of “old-time” radio shows and continue to search the internets for new finds. When I was a teenager, my brothers and I used to produce “radio” broadcasts on cassette tapes where we would play songs from other tapes, records or even playing them ourselves on guitar. Oh, the fun. In 2004, I began a stint as program director of an internet-only radio station called, “MUGradio”. I also hosted a weekly one hour program until I left to start a podcast of my own. The podcast, named, “Hey, It’s That Guy’s Show”, ran for about three and a half years before I found I needed time to do other things. I am so glad to be helping out with Anne’s show!” About Michael Hill Michael was born a small child in Seattle, Washington. Unfortunately for his sister, he arrived on her first birthday, thus creating a pattern of general annoyances for years to come. He grew up really rather quickly, what with the years flying by and all and tried his hand at several occupations such as: Hayer, Barn builder, Tactical Radio Operator/Mechanic in the Army, Ground Radio installations technician/mechanic in the US Air Force, Electrician, apprentice Optician, Dispatcher, drain cleaner Tech/Supervisor, Sewage system maintenance, fanzine editor, mobile home mover, moocher, cartoonist/animator, computer builder/repairer, BBS sysop/operator, plastics warehouser, inventory control specialist, Forklift operator, Corporate Training Specialist, video producer, customer service representative, customer service supervisor, Oracle wizard, pocaster and other stuff like that.

Common Sense, Paine's pro-independence monograph published anonymously on 10 January 1776, spread quickly among literate colonists. Within three months, 120,000 copies are alleged to have been distributed throughout the colonies, which themselves totaled only four million free inhabitants, making it the best-selling work in 18th-century America. Its total sales in both America and Europe reached 500,000 copies. It convinced many colonists, including George Washington and John Adams, to seek redress in political independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain, and argued strongly against any compromise short of independence. Washington Square is a short novel by Henry James. Originally published in 1880 as a serial in Cornhill Magazine and Harper's New Monthly Magazine, it is a structurally simple tragicomedy that recounts the conflict between a dull but sweet daughter and her brilliant, domineering father. The book is often compared to Jane Austen's work for the clarity and grace of its prose and its intense focus on family relationships. James was hardly a great admirer of Jane Austen, so he might not have regarded the comparison as flattering. In fact, James was not a great fan of Washington Square itself. He tried to read it over for inclusion in the New York Edition of his fiction (1907-1909) but found that he couldn't, and the novel was not included. Other readers, though, have sufficiently enjoyed the book to make it one of the more popular works of the Jamesian canon.

FRANCES CALDERON DE LA BARCA, born in Edinburgh, 1804, the daughter of William Inglis. After her father's death she settled in America, where she married the Spanish diplomat, Don Angel Calderon de la Barca. She accompanied him on his various appointments to Mexico, Washington, and finally to Madrid, where she was created Marquesa de Calderon de la Barca by Alfonso XII and died in 1882. The present work is the result of observations made during a two years' residence in Mexico, by a lady, whose position there made her intimately acquainted with its society, and opened to her the best sources of information in regard to whatever could interest an enlightened foreigner. It consists of letters written to the members of her own family, and, really, not intended originally--however incredible the assertion—for publication. Taken from text itself and part of preface.
